We are two people and a very good dog.
Miriam and Nitzan run this out of our house in North Austin, with 2 kids and Penny. It is not a side business we scaled up. It is our home, and we cap it at 3 dogs because that is how many we can actually pay attention to.

Miriam
Miriam is the one your dog will be attached to by day two. Clients describe her the same way over and over: calm, patient, and unbothered by the dog everybody else finds difficult. One family has trusted her with their dog for four years running.
She has been sitting dogs through Rover long before this had a name or a website, which means the reviews there are real, independent, and not something we can edit.
See Miriam’s Rover profileMiriam has been watching my dog for the last 4 years when i travel for weeks periods. I trust her completely with my dog. i feel like sometimes my dog love her more than me.

Meet Penny
Penny is an Australian Kelpie mix, 1 years old and 35 pounds. Kelpies are working dogs, so she has opinions about squirrels and a great deal of energy for the yard.
What matters for your dog is her temperament. She is deferential. She greets new dogs without crowding them, she gives ground, and she brings her own toys over and leaves them there. Guests who arrive nervous tend to settle faster than their owners expect, and she is usually the reason.

Why we keep it small
We could take more dogs. We would make more money and every stay would get worse. At 3 dogs we know who eats slowly, who needs a pill at seven, who guards a toy, and who wants to be left alone for an hour after breakfast. Past that, you stop knowing dogs and start managing them.
It also means we turn people away, sometimes regularly. If we are full we will tell you the same day rather than leaving you hanging, because you have a trip to plan.
