Boarding agreement
Plain terms for a stay at North Austin Boarding. You will be asked to confirm these before your dog’s first visit.
What we agree to
- Care for your dog in our home, with no more than 4 dogs in the house at any time.
- Feed the food you provide, on the schedule you give us, and give any medication exactly as you have written it down.
- Keep your dog in a securely fenced yard when outside, and on a leash anywhere else.
- Tell you promptly if your dog is unwell, hurt, or not settling.
- Never rehome, breed, sell, or transfer your dog to anybody other than the people you name at drop off.
What you agree to
- Your dog is up to date on Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, and you can show records.
- Your dog is free of fleas, ticks, and any illness that spreads to other dogs.
- You have told us honestly about any history of biting, resource guarding, escaping, or serious reactivity. This is the single most important line in this document. We can work with almost anything if we know about it, and with almost nothing if we find out during a stay.
- You have given us a phone number that will be answered while you are away, and a local contact who can collect your dog if you cannot.
Veterinary care
If your dog needs a vet and we cannot reach you, we will take them to a vet and act on professional advice. You are responsible for the cost of treatment. Tell us your regular vet at drop off and we will use them wherever possible.
Risk
Dogs play, and play carries ordinary risk. Scrapes, a torn nail, or an upset stomach can happen in any home, including yours. We are responsible for negligence on our part. We are not responsible for the ordinary consequences of a dog being a dog, or for an existing condition that surfaces during a stay.
Cancellations
Plans change, and we would always rather know early than late. Tell us as soon as you know and we will work it out with you.
Photographs
We take photos of our guests and send them to you. We only publish a photo of your dog somewhere public if you have said we can. Say no at any time, including after saying yes, and it comes down.
Ending a stay early
If your dog is genuinely miserable here, or is a danger to the other dogs or to our family, we will call you and arrange for them to be collected. This is rare, and the meet and greet exists to make it rarer.
