Vaccination policy

Every dog who stays here needs to be current on Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella. Send a photo of the records from your vet, or ask them to email us directly.

Rabies

Required, and not by us. Texas law requires rabies vaccination for dogs and cats over four months old, and it has to be given by a licensed veterinarian. Bring the certificate or the tag number.

DHPP

Distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, and parvovirus, usually given as one combination shot. Parvo in particular is the reason this matters in a house where dogs share a yard.

Bordetella

Kennel cough. It is rarely serious and it is extremely contagious, which makes it exactly the sort of thing that turns one dog’s stay into4dogs’ problem. Most vets want it every six to twelve months.

Titers and medical exemptions

If your vet has advised against a vaccine, or your dog is on a titer schedule instead, talk to us before you book. We would rather have a conversation than turn away a healthy dog over paperwork, but we need to hear it from your vet.

Puppies

Puppies need to have finished their initial course. A puppy who is partway through a vaccination series is genuinely at risk around other dogs, and no boarding stay is worth that.

Fleas and ticks

Not a vaccination, but the same idea. Please have your dog on whatever prevention your vet recommends. One dog arriving with fleas means every dog here leaves with them.
